Welcome to Araluen Border Collies

The Araluen story began in 1995 when we decided that now was the time to purchase our first dog. Greg’s choice was a Labrador and mine was a Border Collie. Thank goodness that there were no Labrador pups available at the time or our story would be very different.

We purchased our first Border, a dog, “Jake” who was initially going to be just a pet, but as he grew a matured we were encouraged to show him and the rest is history.

Our next purchase was a bitch “Jessie” so that we could begin our own breeding program.

Since then Border Collies have consumed our lives. We have moved from a suburban home in Sydney to a 10 acre property at Lower Portland on the Hawkesbury River on the outskirts of Sydney so that we can fulfil our dreams.

Our first litter from “Jessie” produced our first Best In Show Winner as well as our first Homebred Champion, Ch Araluen New Kid in Town and his sister Araluen Witchy Woman who is also a Best In Group Winner.

Whilst Tania does the majority of exhibiting at present due to Greg’s work commitments, Araluen is a team effort with both of us actively involved in the selecting dogs for our breeding program as well as training and grooming.

Our second Araluen litter is on the ground and enquiries on this litter or any of our other dogs is encouraged.
